In this project, a wood pedestal was transformed using silver leaf to enhance its aesthetic appeal. The process involved several key steps:
Preparation of the Wood
- The surface of the pedestal was cleaned to remove dust from the surfaces.
Application of Silver Leaf
- Tools required included adhesive, a soft brush, and silver leaf.
- The adhesive was applied evenly to the smooth surface, creating a tacky finish.
- Silver leaf sheets were carefully pressed onto the pedestal, conforming to its curves and crevices.
Final Touches
- The combination of wood and silver leaf created a striking visual contrast.
- A protective finish was applied to ensure durability and longevity.
The final product is a contemporary piece that combines the organic beauty of wood with the modern elegance of silver leaf, suitable for enhancing any space. A glass top was later installed.
